Aircraft Leasing

For many prospective aircraft operators, as well as existing aircraft owners, leasing makes more sense than conventional bank financing. NAFS offers a variety of leasing options to meet the needs of our clients. This consists of two basic options:

aircraft leasing

1) The Existing Aircraft Owner:

Over time, some King Air owners find that their needs have changed and that they no longer have a use for their King Air. In some cases though, an outright sale may be impractical due to tax issues or because the current value of their King Air is substantially lower than the amount owed on the loan.

Rather than letting the aircraft sit unused…while expenses continue to be incurred, NAFS can market the aircraft to prospective Lessee’s. This has the obvious advantage of effectively eliminating the ongoing expenses of ownership during the term of the lease. This includes the loan payment, maintenance, insurance, hangar storage, etc. Also, an additional advantage comes from properly preserving the aircraft. Even with reasonable efforts toward keeping up the maintenance, letting an aircraft sit unused has a substantial impact on its overall condition. Flying regularly is by far the better alternative.

2) The Prospective Aircraft Lessee:

For a prospective client in search of a King Air to lease, NAFS can locate an aircraft that suits their needs. We would provide an aircraft from two possible sources. The first would be those King Airs already for sale, followed by off-market aircraft.

On aircraft already on the market, we contact sellers on a regular basis in order to determine their best pricing, and also whether the owner would consider leasing the aircraft. In some cases, the best choice for a prospective Lessee will be an aircraft that is already on the open market, although the advertising may not state that the owner will consider leasing.

On off-market aircraft, we contact King Air owners on average of twice per year to determine the sales status of their aircraft. This allows us to be aware of these off-market opportunities well before any would-be Lessee could learn that a particular off-market aircraft is available and the owner will consider leasing.

Whatever the source…on-market or off-market, there are two paths forward from this point as well. If the owner will carry the lease, we are there to assist with negotiations and contracts. Alternately, if the aircraft owner will not carry the lease, NAFS can purchase the aircraft and lease it to our client.
